The Venice Towers

Palazzo Giustinian Lollin, near the Accademia Bridge and the Grand Canal, was the venue of the fourth annual Venice’s Tall Building Summer school, “The Venice Towers”. The two-week long workshop, supported by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, saw international students cascade into the medieval city of canals and learn about tall building design in the almost surreal cultural context of the Venetian lagoon. Prof. Croce organized the workshop with the help of IUAV professors (including myself), and participation by practitioners and sponsors that included SOM (New York), VOA (Chicago), Pomeroy Studio (Singapore) and Permasteelisa (Venice).
