The Studio’s projects have evolved to embody a unique set of identifiable characteristics that are driven through the rigors of environmental modeling, modular construction and the belief that culture and the preservation of space are worthy counterpoints to environmental sustainability . Our projects have a characteristic white, sleek, and sometimes curved profile that serves to reduce surface area exposed to heat gain and to aid air-flow through the occupied spaces. The presence of skycourts and skygardens – a prevalent research topic for the Studio, further characterizes our city and building designs through the balancing of built up area with open social space. By integrating renewable technologies and materials, the Studio further reduces the reliance on natural resources. In addition to high levels of building performance, a consideration for the cultural reinterpretation of the local vernacular traditions are expressed through the tectonic form, and helps contextualise the developments into their specific location.
